Estamp is continuously reinventing itself and setting itself new challenges to find innovative solutions within the automotive industry. In this rapidly-changing environment, it is important to be at the forefront and anticipate solutions for future needs. As such, Estamp takes part in and benefits from various innovation projects, together with other companies from the industry and/or technology centres.
In February, we started the FormPlanet research and development project, together with Eurecat (Technology Centre of Catalonia) and under the European Horizon 2020 programme, the European Union’s main research and innovation programme with a budget of nearly €80 billion for the 2014-2020 period. This programme aims to bring together research and innovation, focussing on three key areas: excellence in science, industrial leadership and social challenges.
This new project responds to the need for precise characterisation of materials and new approaches to modelling to evaluate metal sheet formability (to predict and solve the issue sheet breakages) and the performance of the piece, developing a comprehensive ecosystem for characterisation of materials based on user needs (TestBed), providing advanced testing methodologies for pieces that are difficult to form.
