NEKLAR AND ITS COMMITMENT TO METAL RECYCLING ON WORLD RECYCLING DAY

On Global Recycling Day, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainability through metal recycling and its transformation into high-value raw materials. Our processes enable us to recover and reuse aluminum and other metals in various grades, ensuring their optimal utilization and actively contributing to the circular economy.

Metal recycling is one of the most effective strategies for reducing the carbon footprint in industry. For example, while producing one ton of virgin aluminum generates approximately 10 tons of CO₂, its recycled counterpart reduces that figure to just 0.5 tons, achieving a 95% reduction in emissions.

At Neklar, we are proud that our metal recycling management allows us to prevent the emission of more than 50,000 tons of CO₂ each year, positioning us as a key player in the transition to a more sustainable industry.

It is estimated that 75% of the aluminum produced in the last 100 years is still in use thanks to recycling, demonstrating its durability and crucial role in sustainability. Unlike other raw materials with much lower recycling rates that generate waste requiring management, aluminum can be reused indefinitely without losing its properties. Each recycling cycle not only significantly reduces emissions but also strengthens a more efficient and responsible industrial model.

All our team members understand the importance of proper segregation and recovery of metals, an effort that is essential for both environmental protection and the benefit of our customers. By reducing dependence on raw material extraction, we also achieve a drastic reduction in CO₂ emissions and optimize the use of available resources.

For this reason, at Neklar, we actively promote the use of recycled materials among our suppliers, ensuring that the benefits of recycling extend throughout the entire value chain and contribute to an industry that is more efficient, sustainable, and responsible for the future of our planet.
